Farmers Fair
KVK Organize one day farmers Fair on Pradhan Mantri Fashal Beema Youjna on 3rd April, 2016. The main aim of the farmers fair was to create awareness on the different agriculture scheme including awareness among farmers on benefits of soil health cards, production of organic inputs, water use efficiency besides conducting live demonstration on application of various improved technologies and best practices. Major feature of the mela.
- KVK take dates from the Member of Parliament (MP) Nagaur Sh. C.R. Chaudhary for organization and MP was Chief gust of this Farmers Fair.
- The Vice-chancellor Agriculture University, Jodhpur Dr. Balraj Singh and MLA Nagaur Sh. Habibur Rahman and other dignitaries were also present the farmers fair.
- Along with all the line departments, about 600 farmers participated in this farmers fairs from the all blocks of the district.
- Literature about these schemes were distributed all the participants.
- Farmers visited live demonstration of Ber orchard along with solar water pump on rain water harvesting structure on the farm of Sh. Umed Singh, village Budi.
Farmers Scientist Interaction
Farmers Scientist Interaction organized during Kharif and Rabi season twice in a year at the KVK, Which is sponsored by ATMA Nagaur. In this programme about 25 farmers are participated from the whole district. The problems of the farmers are solved by the KVK scientist through diagnosis and observation of samples of diseases, infestation of insect & nutrient deficiency.
Soil Health Day
As per the direction of the ICAR, KVK organized soil health day on every year 5th December. In this event KVK collect soil samples from farmer’s field and Soil heath card is distributed to farmers in soil health day programme. This programme was celebrated in the Member of Parliament adopted village named is Chawandia on 5th December 2016.
Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav (MGMG)
In this scheme KVK is adopted two villages namely Dehari & Dotina of Nagaur District. In theses villages KVK organized awareness training programmes, kisan gosthies, film show, FLD’s etc. for creating awareness among farming community about agriculture technology/programme.
Front line Demonstrations
Krishi Vigyan Kendra conducts several demonstrations on farmers fields on technologies released by research institutes and Universities. These are mainly related to latest released varieties, methods to control pest & diseases, technologies to increase yields, technologies to reduce cost of production, grow and best utilization of feed and fodder for animals to increase milk production.etc. Presently a special programme under NMOOP and NFSM to increase the production of oilseed and pluses in the country as cluster FLD in district.
Technology Assessment and Refinement
For any location specific problem in agriculture there are many remedies suggested by various research organizations. Through on farm testing Krishi Vigyan Kendra does comparative studies in farmer’s fields to come to conclusion which of the technologies tested is more suitable to the resources available & is cost effective. This is a form of participatory study where farmer’s perspective is given most importance. The results of such studies can later be made available to farmers.
